Goals

  1. Educate community members about their rights and responsibilities related to the Student Code of Conduct and the Honor System and Standars of Academic Conduct.
  2. Provide volunteer board members with training and educational opportunities to develop their critical thinking and ethical decision-making skills.
  3. Help students reflect upon, understand, and take responsibility for their actions, encouraging them to consider the impact of their decisions on themselves, their peers, and the community.  Aiding them in being able to articulate why the university community is concerned with their misconduct, and encouraging them to comport themselves such that their conduct reflects positively upon themselves and the VCU community.
  4. Address alleged student misconduct in a prompt and fair manner, preserving the rights of students in the administration of the Student Code of Conduct and the Honor System and Standards of Academic Conduct.
  5. Empower students directly or via referral to university resources to learn skills or strategies to deter them from future infractions of the Student Code of Conduct and the Honor System and Standards of Academic Conduct.
  6. Initiate and encourage educational activities that serve to reduce violations of the Student Code of Conduct and the Honor System and Standards of Academic Conduct.
