About Us
Mission:
Student Conduct and Academic Integrity (SCAI) encourages the personal, social, and emotional growth of our students by helping them understand how their actions affect others, developing their ethical decision-making skills, and promoting a positive culture of integrity and accountability. SCAI provides prompt, fair, and impartial resolution, balancing both the interests of the individual student and the community at large.
Vision:
A campus community where all faculty, staff, and students understand and promote community standards of civility, respect, and integrity. We shall be a leader and serve as a model to other institutions with regard not only to adjudication but also to student-centered education and prevention initiatives.
Values:
Civility: We value polite, courteous, and respectful treatment of all people.
Collaboration: We value the exchange of ideas and innovative solutions with our community partners so that we may best serve the needs of VCU students, faculty, and staff.
Community: We value a sense of responsibility for, accountability to, and fellowship with all VCU RAMS.
Integrity: We value and commit to professionalism, honesty, and fairness in all that we do.
Student Success: We value the opportunity to develop and educate students through their engagement with and participation in the conduct process and promoting a climate conducive to academic achievement and personal development for all VCU Students.
SCAI's Commitment to Belonging and Inclusion:
We offer supportive processes in which every student/group can feel a sense of understanding and have the tools and support needed to achieve success. We respect individual and cultural differences and welcome different perspectives. We aim to provide respectful treatment to people of all abilities, backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures.

Our Common Purpose: Creating Community
Our Quality Standards: Well-Being, Relationship, Resourcefulness
These three standards will guide us in our daily work. With each decision, we will assess:
- Have we supported the well-being of the VCU community?
- Have we maintained our relationship(s) with VCU community members?
- Have we applied resourcefulness in meeting the needs of the VCU community?
