Mission, Vision, Values

Mission:

Student Conduct and Academic Integrity supports the educational mission of the university by educating students about appropriate behavior, developing their ethical decision-making skills, and helping them understand how their actions affect others. If misconduct is alleged, Student Conduct and Academic Integrity provides prompt, fair, and impartial resolution to the matter, balancing both the interests of the individual student and the community at large.

 

Vision:

Student Conduct and Academic Integrity demonstrates excellence, expertise, and innovation in all aspects of the student conduct process.  Student Conduct and Academic Integrity shall be a leader and serve as a model to other institutions with regard not only to adjudication, but also to student-centered education and prevention initiatives.  

 

Values:

Civility: We value polite, courteous and respectful treatment of people of all abilities, backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures.

Collaboration:  We value the exchange of ideas and innovative solutions with our community partners so that we may best serve the needs of VCU students, faculty and staff.  

Community: We value a sense of responsibility for, accountability to, and fellowship with all VCU RAMS.

Integrity: We value and commit to professionalism, honesty and fairness in all that we do.

Learning: We value the opportunity to develop and educate students, faculty and staff through their engagement with and participation in the conduct process.
